Built from marine plywood, the Pongo27 is designed for a smooth, headache-free build, which prioritize ease and speed of build over maximum weight savings.
Performance
The modern multi chine hull design offers a high volume and righting moment, but yet small wetted surface. Well adjusted lateral and sail plans provide good performance.
Cruiser
Fast. Functional. Effortless. Just cast off and go. The Pongo27 hits the sweet spot: fast and responsive on the water, yet smart and comfortable enough to stay.

Construction
- Hull, deck and cockpit in 10-15 mm marine grade plywood. Inside panel joints laminated with 280 g/m² glass.
- Bulkheads and stringers in 12 mm marine grade plywood, bonded to the hull with epoxy fillers and glass fabric.
- All plywood panels are CNC machined and equipped with puzzle joints.
- All outer surfaces covered with one layer of 280 g/m² glass fabric and two layers of epoxy resin.
- All internal surfaces covered with two layers of epoxy resin.
- All metal parts like chain plates and fittings are from marine grade stainless steel.
- Hull and deck are painted with two component polyurethane yacht coating.
- Cockpit sole, benches and deck are covered with marine grade cork decking.

- High aspect transom hung twin rudders with NACA0012 profile.
- Under deck mounted control rods.
- Composit tiller with adjustable tiller extension.
- Preparation for under deck autopilot.
- Lifting T-keel.
- High aspect composit fin with NACA64A-013 profile.
- 450 kg lead ballast bulb.
- Stainless steel safety lock pin.
- Top to bottom stainless steel keel bolts.
- Pulley system with very high transmission ratio for hoisting the keel.
